I'd say my initial attraction to fitness was, stereotypically, to 'lose weight' after two c-section babies and two spinal discectomies. The day I decided I no longer wanted to be overweight and miserable was day 1. However, things soon changed. Mindset shifted and the fitness became a way of life. It was about mental clarity and focus, feeling stronger in mind and body. This led me to want to help others, to experience the benefits and, hopefully, avoid what I've gone through with spine surgeries.
I've had 3 discectomies to date and trained my way back to full strength. I want to encourage people to train to pre-hab and future-proof their body - yep, 'use it or lose it'!
Favourite exercise- core focused exercises, planks, side planks and the multitude of variations for real strength gains. Oh, and glutes.... build the base of core stability!
Away from the gym - I love being out in nature, hiking in the hills.
My art studio is my peaceful zone- creativity is in my soul.
Also love a good dance session, whether that's out partying or in my kitchen! I love music.
Favourite food- I love cooking and eating, trying new recipes or creating my own. My favourite is a risotto..... oh and Christmas Dinner!
